One of my earliest memories of loving illustration was during a family holiday in Dartmouth when I was seven or eight.
We would go out for a cooked breakfast (before it was called brunch) at a place called Alfresco’s, where the bathroom walls were covered in Mordillo comics.
I would sit on the toilet for ages, not wanting to leave until I had looked at every single illustration, and often by the time I left to go back to the table, there was a long queue forming in the corridor.
After school, I decided to study Product Design, and after university, I spent five years working as a product designer, followed by several years advising small businesses on branding and design.
But gradually I began to long to create again - and that’s what led me to rediscover my passion for stories and for illustration.
As you can see, my background in design comes through in my work.

What do you love to do when you're not working?
I absolutely love wild swimming, so you can often find me at a nearby swim lake or quarry with friends.
What is one thing you're truly proud of that has nothing to do with your career?
I think that would be learning to use power tools! My current favourite is my SDS drill, which I used to strip the wall above my fireplace back to the original brickwork.
What is the weirdest thing you're passionate about or 'geek out' on?
Recently, I've become really interested in Neanderthals and prehistoric humans and how we developed. In another life, I think I could have been an archaeologist.
I'll be attending Bologna in the spring, so do reach out to me if you would like to connect over a coffee.
